    love it! (so far…)
well, i’ve only had this thing about a week but so i am quite pleased with my purchase. I have an exercise bike in the basement but i wanted something that i can keep in my room. This fits in the corner nicely and i can hop on while watching the t.v. Very convenient and IMO it provides a great workout. I consider myself to be in pretty good shape (i run, lift weights, and do HIIT/plyometric videos fairly regularly) and after 10 mins i was breaking a sweat & my heart rate was definitely up. This stepper goes up really high off the ground so you really do feel it in the butt if you take full advantage of the full stride. i’ve used cheaper models that have less height to them & it doesn’t feel like as great a workout as this climbing stepper does. It was easy to assemble & is very sturdy. i have no complaints. (if anything breaks or i have any trouble with the machine in the future i will be sure to update my review.)edit on 3/7/14—the stepper is still in great condition, same as when i bought it. Granted, I do use it very infrequently (probably less than a dozen times since i bought it), but i figured i’d update my review to at least let everyone know that nothing broke on mine and there is no squeaking parts or other annoying problems.6/22/15 Since my last update i started using this stepper more often, on average twice a week for about a 1/2 hour or so. It is in perfect working condition still and i still find it to be very challenging. I found that if i want to go faster i move my feet back towards the end of the footpads more. to make the tension a little higher & also slow the pace down i move my feet up towards the front of the footpads. I also have played around with propping the front or back of the machine up a few inches (with books, towels, or whatever works) to help target certain muscles better. I like the cardio benefits but also that my calves are looking more muscular lately. I had been trying to target my calves with seated & standing weighted calf raises for a few months & i actually noticed faster improvement after incorporating this machine into my routine more.

    Good Investment
I am pleasantly surprised at how much I like this stepper. For starters, I was not enthused about the cable type steppers which display no obvious means of resistance control. In fact I questioned whether those types of machines had any useful level of resistance at all. Those cute girls on those videos don’t look like they are working very hard. Also, there seems to be steppers in the $100-$200 range and then $1000 monstrosities and up, with little in between. I figured if this wears out and I like it otherwise, I can afford to replace it. I have owned this for about two months now and can say that the unit is structurally sound and sufficiently stable. I have had zero problems in terms of function or stability of the machine on my carpeted bonus room floor. It arrived well packed and undamaged, the assembly is a breeze (tools provided), fasteners are very substantial (hex key cap screws) as is the tubular framing which is 2″ diameter and finished with a nice gloss gray paint job. No issues with installation and function of the timer, worked fine from the get-go. In setting up the resistance the approach I took was to increase the resistance to the point where under a normal pace and making sure to use the full travel of the cylinders, the cylinders had sufficient resistance to avoid bottoming out on the frame. If resistance is set too low for your pace/weight you will hit bottom on every stroke. For my weight and a reasonable pace I set the resistance to about 5.5 on the scale of 12 – both cylinders have identical resistance as near as I can tell. When you do double time on the machine you will tend to ride much higher up on the cylinder travel. The total range of the stepper is about 14″ and I think it is good practice to use as much of the travel as possible. I have yet to experiment with additional increases in resistance, opting for longer duration in my workout for now. Your heart rate will escalate rapidly on this and if you can do 5 minutes straight the first time out you are probably in the minority. I am 6-0, 195 lbs and 65 years old, and in good physical condition, but needed better aerobic conditioning. I usually see a heart rate of about 135-140 after my second 5 minute session. Initially I could only do about 3 minutes before I had to stop and am now doing three sets of 5 minutes with a two minute break between. I get a very significant aerobic workout plus excellent low impact strength development in my quads, glutes, and to a lesser extent my lower abs and hips. From my perspective this machine does what it should functionally, and I don’t know how you could get anything better for this level of investment.

    GREAT MACHINE, HARD WORKOUT
I’ve read reviews on the site, Walmart and others about this particular Stepper. People said, they had to go out and replace bolts, the wire that connected the digital readout for time, calories etc. was broke upon arrival. This didn’t adjust properly, it doesn’t pump evenly, it makes noise… This was the easiest exercise equipment I ever put together, literally in minutes, packed perfectly. It seems sturdy and I weigh 260, it doesn’t move on indoor/outdoor carpeting. It makes a sound when the cylinders are pumping up and down. The only problem, YOU WILL WORK YOUR ASS OFF!!! That’s right, forget running on treadmills, 18-minute heavy bag workouts, heavy weight lifting and calisthenics (I do these), all out the window. With these workouts I mentioned, you control the pace. But on this machine, you have nowhere else to go but up and down to keep the motion and the workout “alive.” When I first got on it, I told my buddy I’ll shoot for 20 minutes (straight through, continuous). Yeah right. I did accomplish 20 minutes, but in (4) 5-minute intervals (sets) with a 1-2 minutes of standing rest in between. This machine is exactly what I was looking for. I have an iliotibial band injury (knee) that comes and goes and I needed a low-impact cardio workout ~ this is it. Be prepared to work and SWEAT your ass off, I’m not afraid to work hard, sweat, and get to where I wanna be. If I had the dough, I’d order another one, leave it in the box, put it away and have a spare. I LOVE THIS MACHINE. Go for it. Just be prepared to work hard ~~ or you can use it to dry laundry on, it’s tough. Hope this helps.

this is very good climber . . . it gives deep steps which simulate a hiking-climbing workout . . . its made in such a way that you have to fully push down on each down-step . . . I suppose if you loosen the tension then it may go faster . . . I’m 52 suffering severe emotional trauma, clinical depression and severe agoraphobia for 11 years . . . I was always slender but 2-3 years ago all my meds caught up with me . . . resulting in a gain of over 40 pounds by end-2017 . . . I’m not so fit at this time . . . but this Climber is ideal for maintaining stamina, strength & balance . . . and when I do 5 minute spurts it feels kind of aerobic . . . The ideal would be for me to do 3 five-minute spurts within 40 minutes . . . the climber appears very well built & sturdy . . . it doesn’t take much space . . . and its not expensive at all . . . I do recommend it . . . but if you’re very fit with lots of physical activity then it may be too simplistic for you.

Great little piece of kit, easy to assemble (though there was a nut missing but it was easy to replace at my local hardware store) and takes up very little space when folded up. I keep mine behind a door and whip it out when I fancy a quick work out, the little computer is basic but good and it does give you a really good workout. The only things I would advise you about is it makes a bit of a wooshing sound when you’re on it so if you’re an early bird with downstairs neighbours you might want to pop it above an unpopulated space, and the other thing is you do need to lubricate the pistons, I just use a little oil that I use to lube my bike chain and that keeps it runnign smoothly.Happy stepping!

Sólida, fácil de armar, el único problema que he tenido es la computadora (no funciona), pero no es la gran cosa.

I love this stepper! It was easy to assemble. However, the bars where you place your hands are always loose; they probably need a washer, specifically a curved washer. That said, there are many ways to fix this issue. I gave it four stars. Oh! It’s also quite quiet, so I can use it in front of the TV without disturbing my family.
