1) ULTIMATE GRIP

The most important function of a yoga mat is to make you feel steady and comfortable in your postures.

A key element of achieving this is in providing exceptional grip so you no longer have to be scared of slipping during practice, which can not only be ineffective but also dangerous.

We believe our revolutionary Ultra-Grip material is the grippiest yoga mat material on the planet. It even stays grippy when ‘sweaty wet’.

Try it for yourself today and feel strong and confident in your poses and smooth in your transitions like never before!

2) BODY ALIGNMENT ASSISTANCE

Many mats clutter the surface with unnecessary markings. On the Ultra Grip Mat, only what truly matters remains: a central alignment line, hand and foot corner lines, and 45° lines — all you need to support correct alignment in over 1,000 yoga poses.

Laser-etched directly into the surface, these precision alignment lines offer clear guidance without distraction, helping you stay fully focused on your practice.

3) EXTRA SUPPORT, STABILITY AND CUSHIONING

Kneeling postures really can be a pain in the bones if you’ve got a soft foam yoga mat, and thickness can often be deceiving when it comes to comfort.

We think it’s about time you added a bit more protection for your bony bits. That’s why our mats are constructed from a strong natural rubber base, with a cushioned felt layer between that and the top layer of the mat. This creates a deeply cushioned yet stable practicing surface which will keep your feet grounded and your joints happy.

Try out a Plyopic Yoga Mat today and help take your practice to the next level!

4) ECO-CONSCIOUS & BODY KIND

Built to last with enviro-conscious, SGS certified materials.

Choose a mat that’s soft against your skin and better for your health.

✔ We only use sustainably harvested natural rubber in our mats

✔ We’ve surface etched the alignment lines on the mat instead of printing with potentially harmful inks

✔ We’ve used a revolutionary heat-bonding process that eliminates toxic glues to bind the top layer to the base layer

✔ Our mats are PVC-free and free from nasties such as lead and cadmium heavy metals

5) PREMIUM MATS. BETTER VALUE

We know how important the quality of your kit is for your enjoyment and progression in your practice. As a group of yogis ourselves we remember being beginners and slipping around on cheaper mats, which kept rolling up at the edges. It sometimes felt like we were more concentrated on avoiding falling over than getting any kind of flow on.

As we’ve progressed we’ve seen the huge difference a good mat can make to your practice but how restrictive the prices of some of these mats can be. That’s why we made it our mission to construct the highest performance yoga mats from the best materials on the planet, for the lowest cost we possibly could.

FAQs

Q1. My carrying strap is missing. How do I get one?

We always send our mats to Amazon’s warehouse with their carrying straps included. However, sometimes carrying straps get lost in Amazon’s warehouse. If your mat arrives without a carrying strap, please message us at Plyopic, quoting your Amazon ID and we’ll get a new strap sent out to you immediately.

Q2. Does the mat grip the floor well?

Yes! Natural rubber is the most grippy material available for floor grip and will not slide or bunch up. Your mat and floors need to be kept clean to maintain optimal grip. Please follow the mat care instructions below.

Q3. How do I dissipate any initial mat rubber smell?

Owing to airtight quality control packaging, all new mats need time to breathe when straight out of the box. We recommend thoroughly airing out your mat when you first receive it to disperse any initial natural tree rubber smell and keep your mat rolled out between uses where possible. For your peace of mind, our Eco-PU and Natural Tree rubber are quality certified and 100% free from any toxic materials.

Q4. How do I clean my mat?

Use a tiny drop of dish soap diluted very heavily with plenty of water, and wipe it gently with a non-abrasive sponge that is damp, but not soaking wet. As an alternative to dish soap you can try a more natural solution of lemon juice or white vinegar, in both cases very heavily diluted in lots of water. Cleaning your mat can also speed up the airing out process.

Q5. How should I care for my mat?

The Ultra Grip mat is designed for barefoot/hand practice only. Using footwear or socks with grips on them could damage the mat surface. Always roll up the mat with the smooth PU surface facing outwards to avoid damaging the mat surface. We recommend using a yoga mat bag to protect the mat surface. Avoid storing your mat in your car where interior temperatures can exceed 110°F. Avoid direct sun exposure when possible.

This is THE BEST Yoga Mat I’ve ever used 🙂
I began practicing yoga 3 times a week 10 months ago, and being a beginner I thought a yoga mat was simply a yoga mat. I could see that they came in different colors and graphic designs, but I really had no idea about the many different *kinds* of mats, and how that collectively, a wide range of various features/combined characteristics affecting actual *functionality* existed: Things like the material, ie. foam, PVC, rubber, recycled diver wetsuits, etc. – then density, thickness, firmness, texture, “grip” factor, the size, durability, weight, etc…and how each of these play an underlying significant role in your yoga practice. So for the first 2 1/2 months, I was using a very thin, light, slightly textured but cheap ($10 to $12), yoga mat.Although there were times that my sweat caused it to become slippery (and in some postures that felt really sketchy: the feeling that my hands or feet could slip out from under me at any moment), but I didn’t know what I didn’t know and thought, “Hey, slippery-when-wet is normal, just be careful!” That is…until I bought a course on UDEMY.com titled “Movement Foundations: For Mastering the Yoga Basic” – by Kendra Hill. There, right in the beginning in chapter 1, she talks about the variety of factors that make up a “yoga mat”, and how vitally important having the right mat is, to your practice. Everything she explained was an insightful revelation that made total sense. After all, everything we yogis do is on our mats, right? So if a mat doesn’t best support and serve us, it could lead to a serious injury (as a result of a sudden slip) or facilitate ongoing problem (like lack of steadiness in a balance pose, because of being over soft or spongy). As Kendra shared, these are a couple of the things I realized…which set me on a quest to find the ideal yoga mat!Right about that time (February 2019), I decided to get into yoga more full-time and signed up for daily “unlimited” classes per month at a local yoga center. Lo and behold, it was stocked with a collection of different kinds of mats for members to use! So for 5-6 days a week over the next several weeks, I tried different ones and asked the teachers and other members about their own personal mats: What made them choose it? What was it they liked about it? or maybe didn’t like? How much did it cost? Where did they get it? Etc.Armed with a new understanding and experience on different yoga mats ( note: a yoga mat, isn’t simply a yoga mat – it affects everything!)… I felt like I had a really clear idea of what type of mat would be ideal, and that, I needed to have:A) Safety First –> so a mat that could handle getting wet with sweat, yet remain highly slip-free and “grip” dependable.B) Comfortable –> Not too soft/thick = spongy = wobbleness/instability in balance poses, etc…But not too thin either = sense of near direct contact with a hard floor or ground = soreness in thesit bones, knees, other joints/boney areas of the body. Also, non-abrasive. The *safest* mat I’d tried so far was made of recycled diver wetsuit material.Although the material was very durable and had a strong grip factor, it felt abrasive to me and mighteven cause “road rash” during certain movements.C) Affordable –> I wanted the best, ideal, most excellent mat I could find. But some of the ones going over $100 thatsome yogis have, was like “hmmm…maybe not, maybe there’s something out there better for less. Letme look!!”So I went searching on Amazon, and guess what I found? The PLYOPIC Ultra-Grip Yoga Mat! :-)Honestly, I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews on this product, because it not only met, but exceeded my ABC criteria. How?2 Things –>> #1. The mat provides excellent grip and firm support (in 7 months of use 5-7 times a week and a lot of sweat, I’ve *never* once felt like I was going to slip). But somehow, the top is absolutely flat and smooth. There’s no uneven or worse, abrasive texture at all. Remarkably, it actually feels very soft to the touch, sort of like velvet or brushed suade. So it’s super sure and grippy, yet very gentle on your skin and body… and it does it without being over thick-soft and spongy. How PLYOPIC does this is pretty trick!#2. It has a Centerline, embossed on the top. One other “revelation” Kendra talks about in her Udemycourse is the importance of body/structural alignment thru the 3 dimensional planes of movement.Having a mat with a centerline, lined up parallel with other visual cues in the practice space (in thiscase, ceiling beams overhead, hardwood floor seams, perpindicular window sills, vertical closetframes, etc.)…and knowing how to correlate these (like geometric reference points) as youmove from one posture into another, makes a *Huge* beneficial difference in how confident and sureyou execute each movement. Having a centerline for reference enables you to accurately observe youralignment, stacking, etc. and more importantly recognize *the feeling* when you have it precisely right,or, make the necessary correction when it’s not quite there until it is. In other words, your practicebecomes much more empowered and gratifying, all by having a centerline on your mat. It’s quiteamazing actually!Okay, so what are the drawbacks? Are there any? Well, the PLYOPIC Mat *is* made of rubber…so like others mention, it does have a noticable rubber smell when you first get it. How long that lasts I think depends on what each user does with it. When I first got mine, I started using it immediately. But each time before and after, I slung it over a wooden curtain rod in my open-air garage to let the flow of fresh air “flush out” the rubber smell. Within about 10 days it went from being quite noticable (up close) to barely being noticable. Then it became non-existent. So yeah, I’d say that’s about the strongest drawback. But if you can put up with it for a little bit, you’ll be fine.If there’s any other possible drawback to consider, I’d say it’s the weight. Rubber is generally denser and a little heavier than other popular mat material. On the other hand, it’s also a lot more durable. That’s why tires are made out of rubber yeah? 😉 So it’s a give n’ take: If for example, a person goes to yoga class bringing a lot of other stuff, they may not want to carry that little extra weight everytime. But being that your mat, is your #1 essential piece and everything else (other than possibly drinking water) is secondary, I think the PLYOPIC Ultra-Grip Yoga Mat is definitely worthy of any yogi’s consideration. It may not be the lightest, or even the prettiest (having other colors besides black/grey would be nice) but it’s definitely Super Safe and Functional! That’s what I think ~ Cheers 🙂

    Great for hot yoga
I been practice hot yoga for several years now. I have used grippy brand name mat (Lif..e) for years. With inflation, I couldn’t justify paying for another one. So I gave this mat a try upon reading the reviews. This mat is a little thicker than I am use to. I like 2-3mm thickness. Since the price was fair, I thought I would give it a try. My hands don’t slip or slide even with all the sweat. I don’t even use yoga towel. I feel grounded with this mat. Definitely a great dupe for the other grippy brand name mat (Lif..e). ~the wife.

    Highly Recommend! 🙂
I practice hot yoga 5–6 times a week, and originally purchased this mat as a backup — but it quickly became my go-to! I’m absolutely in love with it. The quality is excellent, with just the right amount of cushioning, amazing grip, and fantastic absorption (even during the sweatiest sessions). It’s durable, non-slip, and perfect for regular practice. Highly recommend!

    Not slippery.
+1 monthI love my mat. Only thing to mote is if you are doing really fast moves such as mountain climbers in a hot pilates setting. The high friction of moves can feel like burning. I mean enough that you may want a towel there which defeats the purpose of non-slip. I still love my mat.Two week update:I really like this mat except the weight but ended up getting a proper yoga bag. It has worked well for me for hot pilates, hot vinyasa and hot bootcamp classes. If you graze to close to the mat fast, can feel like a rubber burn but am sure same for others. I sweat during my classes but am not dripping as much as others so not sure how it would be for the drippers.Been using this a week now. I like that it does not curl but it is heavy. I have used it in my hot yoga and hot boot camp class and not slippery. Will be trying hot pilates and will update. I love it so far but dud have to buy a better bag to carry it as its heavy. Petite human. It does have an unpleasant odor at time but only when your nose is close to it. Easy to clean.

    Very Nice Yoga Mat!
I have been doing yoga for decades and have used many different kinds of mats. I LOVE this mat! It keeps you grounded and doesn’t let you slide or slip not matter how much you sweat. It is a bit bigger than normal which really helps with poses like “prayer balancing twist” if you go very deep in the pose. Although it is a bit longer and wider, I have no problem taking it to the gym. I also like the line on the mat which helps guide your alignment. The padding is perfect; not too spongy so that you lose your toe grip for balancing poses, but padded enough to ensure comfort when needed. I noticed also that it doesn’t seem to stain at all, despite intense sweat and/or minor scuffs; all seem to wipe away.

High quality mat for a great price
I am totally in love with this mat. I have such a problem with sweaty/slipping hands during my yoga practice and I never realized how much it was impacting my practice until I started using this mat. The Plyopic ultra-grip mat has top-notch grip that keeps me more stable during my practice – No more slipping!!! My yoga experience is 100x better, thanks to this mat 🙌🏼 It is one of my favorite yoga purchases, and the price is amazing for such a high-quality product!Yes, it does come with an initial natural-rubber smell, but that will dissipate after a few days of letting it air out.Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and look forward to using this mat every day!

I bought this mat after using cheaper pvc/tpe mats for years, and the difference is amazing. I probably spent on this mat about 3 times what I would on a cheaper mat, for a quality product that not only seems very durable, but is also helping me to improve my practice. This mat is definitely better value for money, in my opinion. When I unpacked this mat it looked very smooth, and I was sceptical that it would provide enough grip. When I used it for the first time, however, I was pleasantly surprised. This mat allows me to really push against my hands and/or feet without worrying about slipping, which is very useful in sun salutations, or anything where I need to flow between poses. I get very sweaty palms, especially, and I can really push up into my hips and back into my heels in down dog now. The underside of the mat is textured, and grips to hard floors really securely so I don’t have to be concerned about my mat slipping around, either. It’s much sturdier than what I’m used to, and that does mean it’s a bit heavier to carry than my old pvc mat. It’s also a little bit wider and longer than mats I’ve used before.Despite being grippy and stable, there’s enough cushioning that holding floor-based asanas is comfortable enough just with the mat. However, if you’re massively into yin yoga and like to melt into poses for longer periods, you’d probably want to add a towel or blanket for a tiny bit more cushioning.I haven’t needed to clean my mat yet, but the company sent a follow up email with care instructions, which recommends just wiping it down with very dilute washing up liquid – nice and easy! The only thing that would improve this for me would be if it came with a mat bag – the mat came with a yoga strap to use as a carrying strap, which works fine, but using a mat bag is recommended in the care advice, as is protecting it from sunlight, which obviously a yoga strap can’t do. I have been storing mine back in the box when I’m not using it, until I can get a mat bag of the right size.Overall, if you are looking for a sturdy, well-manufactured mat that gives good grip for sweaty hands and feet, I can wholeheartedly recommend this product. It’s been worth every penny to me, and I look forward to using it for years to come.

I am writing this because I would like to know if others have experienced the same problem with this mat. I’m not allergic to natural rubber but it seems something has been used on this mat that I am allergic to, maybe a softening agent or maybe it’s the colouring. It’s a shame because it’s a really good mat, anti-slip and the right length. Not as cushiony as I would like but that’s down to personal preference I suppose. I was too late to return it as it was a gradual thing unfortunately…
