Hydration with aftertaste
Emptying a packet into water, the mix looks thick and a preliminary stir with a spoon made me instead opt to use my mini smoothie blender instead. The smoothie blender achieved a thorough mix with quite a bit of foam that had to settle.The flavors are all using erythritol as a sugar substitute. Erythritol produces a cooling sensation in your mouth. Erythritol is used in sugar free mints and gum specifically to give that cool fresh mouth feeling. While that’s good in a mint, in my opinion it does not pair up well with any of the flavors in this pack. The flavors themselves make no attempt to not taste artificial. The overall combination is artificial and chalky with a cooling sensation to finish. Adding a few ice cubes helped and I was able to get it down in two big swigs.Sometimes supplements taste bad and that’s just how it goes, but I’ve had many hydration drinks that were not just tolerable, but tasted good. I do not feel like this mix made me feel better / more energy / more hydrated than other brands, so I see no reason to force down flavors that I do not like.

TASTE: This powder delivers on TASTE in a way that most electrolyte powders and other supplements do not. It’s so convenient to get a smart blend of hydrating electrolytes, essential vitamins, and joint-supporting collagen all in one tasty drink. The flavors are delicious—Ice Cream and Lemon Lime are my favorites—with a uniquely cool, fresh aftertaste that’s refreshing like mint but without any minty flavor. It tastes so good I’m tempted to have another just as a refreshing drink!DOSING: So I double dosed for a few days and the instructions are clear for a reason, however: enjoy only one per day. I learned this the hard way. When I tried two servings in one day, I experienced noticeably cold fingertips. Now, I stick to one packet on my workout days, and it’s perfect. It’s an excellent, effective product as directed. Five stars for taste and convenience, with an important reminder to follow the serving size. It’s so tasty, it’s hard to remember this is a wellness supplement and not a happy hour cooler.NOTICED: I should also note that, upon shaking, there is a noticeable, but very thin film of product that does not seem to dissolve. I continue to shake the product a few times while drinking for this reason. I should also point out that the California Proposition 65 warning label is on the packaging. I am not used to seeing the CA Prop 65 warning on foodstuffs, so I’d like to learn more.
