Electrolyte Tablets don’t desolve very fast.
Drinklits Lemon-Lime & Orange Electrolyte Tablets. These tablets do not desolve very fast so you need to not expect to drink it right away. We make it the night before because they take a while to desolve. My husband does not like it as well as the zipfizz they do not have as much flavor but we thought we would try them, he said he would not get them again but that is just his opion.

I’m kind of indifferent towards these.
I’ve tried a couple tubes of these now, one orange and one ginger lime. I truly don’t have strong thoughts about them one way or the other, but I’ll still share some of my thoughts.- The flavor is very mild. This isn’t a bad thing necessarily, just don’t expect something that’s going to be super flavorful and potent. Now granted, you can always just add less water to a glass or bottle and it will be more potent, but I went with the recommended 16 ounces. I liked the lime ginger more than the orange. The lime ginger really only tasted like subtle lime, but it was still better than the orange which really just tastes like a diluted version of those emercen-c vitamin c mixes.- I find the time it takes for these to dissolve fully to be annoying. The lime ginger one was ok and only took about 3 or 4 minutes. The orange one took upwards of 10 minutes. I don’t know why there’d be a difference, but there was. I don’t want to have to significantly plan ahead just to drink a little flavored drink.- I will take their word on it that it provides electrolytes and hydrates well. I typically just drink water and don’t really ever feel the need for much beyond that, but figured I’d try these.- Although I don’t love the taste of stevia, it’s better than sucralose or aspartame and I also like that these are sugar free so I consider it a fair trade off. This is the one main benefit I see here for something like this compared to a typical sports drink like gatorade.- Even if I loved these, I couldn’t imagine regularly spending this amount of money on them. To each their own.Overall it might seem like my review is a little negative, but truthfully it might just not be the product for me. I don’t think they’re bad, I just don’t need them in my life.
Consumer Outlook –
Drinklits compared to Nuun: milder taste and uses sugar alcohol.
I like the Electrolyte Drink Tablets by Nuun, so was interested in trying these Drinklits. While Nuun only has 1g of sugar, Drinklits brags about having 0g.Both Nuun and Drinklits have 10 tablets in a tube, but there is a size difference. While at the same width, the Nunn tablets are 7.5mm thick whereas Drinklits are only 6.34mm. Plus there’s a divot in the middle of the Drinklits tablets that takes away some of the bulk (which is there to help you break it in half should you wish). As such, you are getting lesser amounts with Drinklits than with Nuun.Even though it’s larger, the Nuun Lemon Lime tablet dissolves quicker than the Orange Drinklits flavor. In a 12 oz glass of water, I timed the Nuun tablet dissolving in about 5 minutes whereas it took the Drinklits Orange closer to 10 minutes. Interestingly, the Ginger Lime Drinklits dissolved in about 2 minutes, so I’m not sure what the discrepancy is. (I’ve also had some bits at the bottom of my glass that never dissolved.)As far as flavor goes, I would say the orange tastes a bit like a water-downed Tang. Ginger Lime is difficult to describe. Doesn’t taste strongly of ginger or lime, but I can’t quite compare it to anything else. It’s not a strong flavor. More like giving water a slight taste. Both flavors are mild, so you will need to add more than one tablet if you want it stronger.Good shelf life. The pack I received is good for 1 year and 5 months before it hits the expiration date.### Nutrition info ###Both Nuun and Drinklits use Stevia Extract, which is a healthier sweetener than sugar. But this is a little misleading because it’s not the only sweetener they use. Nuun uses dextrose, which is a type of sugar glucose that raises blood sugar levels. Whereas Drinklits uses sorbitol, which is a sugar alcohol that, thankfully, has little impact on blood glucose levels. However, Drinklits’ production process of sorbitol is not clear, and I didn’t see any specifics on their site. It naturally occurs in fruits but is often produced from raw materials such as corn, potatoes, sorghum, or wheat (the latter unlikely since they claim to be gluten-free). Like other sugar alcohols, it can cause gut issues such as abdominal pain, bloating, cramps, diarrhea, and gas. In the medical world, it is used as a laxative. I can speak from experience having had gut problems when eating Atkins bars, which gets around the sugar issue by adding sugar alcohols. Unfortunately, the amount of sorbitol per tablet is not disclosed, so it’s difficult to say if the levels have a high risk of side effects. With sorbitol, side effects can occur at lower doses than most other sweeteners, so some caution is advised.Another ingredient to flag is the “Natural Flavors.” This can mean a lot of different things as it’s a broad category for substances extracted from plants or animals. (Drinklits claims to be vegan, so it’s likely from plants.) It’s a flavor enhancer, and the term “natural” is a bit misleading as it often contains chemicals. But because it’s such a generic category, it’s difficult to narrow down what it specifically contains within these tablets. (Nuun contains it, too.)### Conclusion ###Drinklits appears to be safer for diabetics than Nuun, but may cause issues for people with gut issues, such as IBS. At small amounts, it’s likely not going to cause problems, but I would caution against having too many on a given day. Also, I recommend doing your own research if you are sensitive to that. It contains less sugar; and not just the difference between 1 and 0g, but the difference of not having the hidden sugars that come with dextrose (which is in Nuun). These tablets may not be as healthy as making your own electrolyte drinks from a fruit infuser and adding Celtic sea salt, but it’s not a bad alternative when on the go. Much better than many popular sports drinks.

I don’t even like ginger – but this is doable
This is a pretty nice product and it gets pretty fizzy as soon as you put it in water. I like to put one tablet in a vague squeezable water bottle. Of course, I like the orange flavor a lot more because I do not like ginger. Never have and most likely never will. But I also know that ginger is good for you so this is a actual decent enough way to get some ginger into your diet because you can’t taste the ginger but it is pretty light and the flavor of the lime does help. Especially when I’m not feeling well I try to have a little bit of the ginger one. So again for someone that hates ginger this is pretty doable. But the orange flavor of course is much nicer. I also not a fan of sweet drinks and I’m happy to report that these neither of these are sweet, which is perfect for me. I also like the package because you can easily take these along or keep them in your desk at work so that makes it really versatile that you can add them really to water anywhere that you may be. From camping or beyond.
