I LOVE THESE. Growing up as an athlete I’ve had bad ankle sprains and these shoes help my feet feel very supported. They are a snug fit but amazingly comfortable, some days I even choose these to walk my dog vs my Brookes.

Nice, affordable, lightweight hikers
I scored an apparently unpopular color of these nice, vortex hikers for $40. I feel like the cat that ate the canary. The colors are way better than I expected. The dark gray, or maybe it’s supposed to be black, has kind of a blued gun barrel look. The yellow is low key. Only the light grey Adidas stripes are not to my taste.These are a lighter, less robust shoe than the AX2 CP that I also bought and reviewed recently. They’re still pretty solid feeling though with a nice aggressive tread pattern and rigid, protective sole.The fit of these is larger than the AX2, which really hug your feet tight from all directions before you even tie them. Order your regular size in these. The Eastrail are supportive and firm if you lace tightly, but nothing like the AX2. These are more of a light, comfortable, all purpose shoe for those who spend time outside, as opposed to a purpose built, rugged hiker or work shoe.

Great hiking shoes!!
These shoes were more than I wanted to spend on new hiking shoes but they were worth it! These are the most comfortable hiking shoes I’ve ever tried on. I felt like right off the bat I didn’t even need to break them in (I did anyway though) but they are that comfortable. The soles are noisy on tile but that is from the grippy material they are. The sole material and pattern work great for hiking on rocky & wet trails. During my wet hikes there were only a handful of times I slid a little bit but that was from stepping on mud or wet moss over rocks, I never went down though just short tiny slides if it happened. These are definitely waterproof!!! So thankful for that as I got caught in a downpour on hikes as well as came across streams & my feet were 100% completely dry throughout! My feet also stayed warm which was really nice too. I did not wear 2 pair of socks but one on my hikes but I would have room for 2 if I needed them and they would still be comfortable. These are pricier than others, but in my opinion well worth the extra money!

I haven’t owned the shoe for long but at this time I can say I think Adidas has done themselves proud. The construction of the shoe and the materials seem to be very good quality and I expect the shoe to last awhile used mostly as a walking shoe and some lite use for tennis. As for fit- I don’t have a wide foot, so the men’s size 7 that I ordered fit as expected and broke in easily with no period of discomfort. My one disappointment is that the laces provided were way too long and flat like fettucini – really! Neither I nor any of my buds who tried, could reliably tie these laces so they stay tied – short of double knots, which is unacceptable. But, having replaced them with appropriate length round laces, I once again have happy feet and am enjoying my purchase.

Do not size up!
I ordered my usual size because I saw a couple reviews saying these run long. They were correct! Order your usual size. I am normally size 7 and I like wearing my hiking boots a half a size larger but I’m glad I ordered my usual size. Also, I purchased the GTX version (bright yellow) which do not have the “sock-like” fit around the ankle but provide great waterproof function. I just came back from Yosemite where it rained and snowed for a couple days and lived in these for five days with perfectly dry socks. The bright yellow one is the only GTX pair listed here so make sure to get those!

Awesome Decision
I bought these shoes around Oct/Nov 2019 because I was vacationing last fall in the Blue Ridge & Smoky Mountains. I wanted something cute but practical to wear while hiking.I almost always fit in a size 8.5 regular width shoe, that is the size I bought and right out of the box the shoes fit perfect (no breakin period.) The sole construction gives you great traction, you can feel the stickyness when you walk on cement and rock surfaces but not in an annoying way.After returning from my trip, I wear these shoes to walk my dogs, especially when its rainy. They are absolutely waterproof! Your tootsies will not get wet. I tested them numerous times outside of that, walking across low water level streams when taking photos.To-date out of all the use thus far, these shoes still look good and show little signs of wear. I’m so happy I bought them and will definitely buy another pair when these wear out.

Men’s shoes, wide and quality was questionable
I got these shoes as a replacement, I’ve always loved adidas so thought it would be consistent… when I received the shoe, the color and look were look the photo but even pulling them out of the box, they looked huge. I’m a strict size 8 women’s, and these weren’t marketed as men’s or women’s specifically so I went with my usual size. They were about 1/2 too big, plus were super wide inside and felt like they had zero arch support. Overall I felt they were not well made and definitely not worth the value. I ended up going with the new balance hiking shoes and was able to wear them for over three miles and 1400+ elevation with no problem.TL:DR This is not the trail or hiking shoe for those who want something easy and truly comfortable from a first time wear. Not great quality for the price.

I bought these for my mom. She has wide feet and uses orthotics that require the extra room of mens shoes.These shoes are very comfortable, supportive, breathable & waterproof (Goretex).Waterproof shoe options in other brands are limited to hardcore hiking shoes that are usually very heavy. In comparison, these are light weight. (Her previous shoe was a Northface Hedgehog womens size 8 which are heavier than these even after 2 years of wear.)Sizing: True to size.The size tag in the tongue of her old shoe had worn off. So we followed the adidas website instruction on sizing. Traced her socked foot onto printer paper, with her heel against the baseboard (wall). Measured diagonally from tip of heel to tip of toe. Then used the foot measurement against adidas sizing chart.Thank you Adidas. Thank you Amazon.
