Much better than the Amazon Basics roller
I first purchased the Amazon Basics roller because it was much cheaper than this roller and most of the reviews on it were pretty good. But when that roller arrived, it was so hard that rolling on it was painful, so I returned it for this one, which is made of a different material and was supposed to be a little softer. As it turned out, it is softer–though still plenty firm to serve its purpose and not compress under weight–and it is clearly made of a better material. While I’m not sure why the price of this roller is as high as it is and I suspect it has a considerable profit margin, it does allow me to use it as intended for physical therapy, unlike the cheaper product. The material it is made of is ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), which, per Google-generated AI, “is a versatile, non-toxic polymer known for its flexibility, cushioning, and durability, used widely in soft footwear soles, protective padding, yoga mats, toys, and even in solar panel films due to its impact resistance, light weight, and excellent shock absorption.”

Too early to tell whether this is the answer to my back problems as this is the first roller I’ve ever used; however after a few uses – so far so good (my back isn’t worse:) The roller seams to be everything the seller said it was: great quality, super firm (Can’t imagine anything being more firm unless it was made out of concrete or steel:) From all I can tell thus far, I have no reason to doubt that it’s going to help my back/health and be a great roller for the rest of my life (based on the lifetime warranty and apparent quality!) So I’ll give my rating now and adjust it later if anything negative comes to the surface. Also, I’ll give this only 4 stars for travel-ability and leave the 5 stars for the smaller ones, though using this for traveling is NOT why I bought this. In fact, I’m not sure why they have a traveling rating on this product as this is the full-meal deal in the roller world, not a snack!!! (which is exactly what I wanted!)
