Sleek and adjustable, too lightweight for much though
I got these for my young teen as a lightweight way to add some resistance without going heavy yet. These are very lightweight, and I like that they can be adjusted in small increments of about 1/2 a pound at a time. I really love the design of these, how they stack inside the kettlebell attachment and they can sit upright. Very clever. The dumbbells themselves and the weights that click on seem to be pretty comfortable. However, the kettlebell part feels cheap–I don’t necessarily trust it and I would absolutely not recommend thrusters with these. All that aside, they’re comfortable to use, they are highly adjustable (perfect for a beginner), and they function as you would want them to. The grip is just normal, not rubbery, but a fairly solid durable plastic.For all the sleekness and adjustability, I still don’t think these are worth $55. You can get the same level of resistance out of a band. What these have over a band is continued and sustained resistance, and also ease of use–it doesn’t take creativity to figure out how to capitalize on these.
