Not wide (w is for women’s). huge improvement to an already great shoe. Runs long.
These are fantastic and the upper is a HUGE improvement over the original Evo SL. They’re the same other than the new woven upper. A few MAJOR things to consider:1. The product is incorrectly described. They’re not wide. The W stands for Women’s, not wide. They’re regular women’s B width.2. They run very long. In the original SL, the Evo, takumi and other high end adidas shoes I’ve had to size down. Usually a half size but in In the SL and SL woven I have to go a full size down. I’m normally 8.5 women’s in running shoes, but in these I’m a 7.5. I’ve confirmed they’re women’s sizing multiple times, including in shoe stores…they’re just long, so plan accordingly. I’m on the small end of women’s 8.5, ie I NEVER have to go up to women’s 9, but once in a great while down to 8 on larger shoes, so I’d imagine most women will only need to size down a half size? For reference, I size a half down in Hoka also. The upper is a huge improvement and has much better heel lock down, is more comfortable overall – softer, more flexible and all around better. These are a close tie with the New Balance Rebel v5 for me. I think the NB is a little more stable and has better heel lock down and is more comfy overall but these feel a little faster. They’re both awesome shoes – chances are one will work for you, if not both. I do like the look of the Rebel a bit more, particularly for casual wear, but these definitely look “faster” and more sporty. They’re a fantastic tempo or daily trainer and I would gladly race in them if if I didn’t have true race shoes with a plate, etc.I added a picture of where my big toe ends on the 7.5 women’s evo SL woven (yellow) vs the 8.5 women’s new balance super comp elite 5. Basically the same spot but a full size different
